Abstract: This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of translational medicine by collecting 5417 papers from Web of Science (WOS) for the period of 1900-2011.Based on bibliometric method, co-occurrence method, citation analysis and some other methods for information visualization, the paper presents a overview of the development process, research model, subject structure and some main contents on translational medicine abroad, which may give a reference to translational medicine research in China.
