Research progress on the role of intestinal microbial imbalance in chronic constipation

Abstract: Chronic constipation is the prototype of functional constipation, and its morbidity increases gradually with aging. Intestinal microorganisms are involved in the occurrence, development, pathophysiology and other processes of chronic constipation. They can regulate the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract, and the destruction of the dynamic balance of intestinal microorganisms can lead to the occurrence of chronic constipation.
