Effect of autophagy on diabetic chronic complications

Abstract: Autophagy is an important physiological process and a major defense mechanism of the body under stress such as nutrient and energy. It is able to delay the development of diabetic nephropathy, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic peripheral neuropathy diabetic cardiomyopathy, diabetic macroangiopathy and other diabetic chronic complications.
