Application of tumor markers in breast cancer diagnosis and prognosis

Abstract

Abstract: Tumor markers have been widely used in diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer. This article reviews the clinical applications of classic breast cancer biomarkers, such as CA15-3, HER2, ER and PR, and the clinical values of emerging biomarkers of breast cancer. Combined detection with multi-biomarkers has higher sensitivity and specificity than detection with single tumor marker, and will become a trend how breast cancer biomarkers are used in clinical treatment.
