Research progress of gut microbiota in the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus

Abstract: Gut microbiota has an important influence in the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).Gut microbiota rises insulin resistance,hypoinsulinemia,the disorder of blood glucose resulted from damage of the gut membrane barriers and from releasing metabolite,adipokine and inflammatory factors and then interfere the gut immune functions, finally result in GDM. The probiotic intake can effectively improve the disorders of gut microbiota and blood glucose of GDM patients, furthermore improve the pregnancy outcomes.
