Research progress of tumor-associated macrophages in development and treatment of gastric cancer

Abstract: Gastric cancer is one of the malignant tumors with highest morbidity and mortality in the world. With the development of treatments, the survival of patients has been significantly improved. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are the important part of the tumor microenvironment, which involved in the regulation of gastric cancer cell growth, invasion, immune escape and chemotherapy resistance. In addition, TAMs have shown great potential in evaluating prognosis and targeted therapy for gastric cancer.
