Abstract: G protein-coupled bile acid receptor 1(TGR5) is a specific membrane receptor of bile acids, playing an important role in the bile acid signaling network. Its activation has been proved to increase the glycemic control, regulate of blood lipid balance, enhance energy expenditure, exert anti-inflammatory actions and so on. It suggests that TGR5 may play an important role in metabolic diseases.
