Abstract: Objective To explore the expression and significance of the hypoxia inducible factor (HIF-1αand HIF-2α) in human gastric cancer. Methods SP immunohistochemical method to detect the expressions of HIF-1α,HIF-2αand VEGF in the tissue samples.Western blot method was also used to measure the expressions of HIF-1αand HIF-2α in the tissue samples. Results Compared with the normal tissue, gastric cancer had significantly higher positive expression rate of HIF-1α(61.5% vs.11.1%), HIF-2α(36.5% vs.0)and VEGF(61.5% vs.0). The expression of HIF-1αwas significantly and positively correlated with lymph node metastasis and VEGF expression. HIF-1αand HIF-2α expression of gastric cancer tissues was significantly higher than that of adjacent non-cancerous gastric mucosa. Conclusion The expression of HIF-1α and HIF-2αmay be important roles for the development and progression of ganstric cancer.
