Abstract: Objective To illustrate the selection preference and corresponding influence factors of different laryngeal mask airway (LMA) in clinical anesthesia. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the change of clinical consumption of LMA ProSeal, Supreme and i-gel, and analyzed the difference of surgical subspecialties, patients’ gender and age among three LMAs using Chi square test or t test. Results Altogether 13,494 patients who received LMA-assisted general anesthesia were enrolled, with most of them using LMA Supreme. The number of patients who received LMA-assisted general anesthesia kept increasing from 2010 to 2012. As compared with the number of LMA ProSeal used, those of LMA Supreme and i-gel increased more rapidly, and major of them were used for female patients (P＜0.001). LMA i-gel was preferred in mastectomy (P＜0.001), while LMA Supreme in gynecological procedures (P＜0.001). No statistical difference existed for patients’ age between group LMA Supreme and i-gel, but female patients were younger than male (P＜0.001). Conclusion The surgical subspecialty and surgical sites were major influence factors of the selection preference of different LMAs
