Abstract: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is characterized by decreased systolic function and left or biventricular enlargement. There is no single specific medicine to delay the progression of DCM. Melatonin (Mel) plays a key role in many cardiovascular diseases by regulating cell damage, oxidative stress and other pathological processes, delaying myocardial remodeling and protecting cardiac function. There is a close relationship between DCM and Mel. It is confirmed that Mel plays an important role in delaying the progression of DCM.
