Through the investigation and comparison of the staff composition, beds number and research publication in the Department of Otolaryngology of two affiliated hospitals of Western and Eastern medical colleges in 2020, the weakness and barriers of medical personnel in Western China were found out. The regular Journal Clubs(JCs) is an effective method which may stimulate the interest of faculty at hospital in clinical research, enhance research level and arouse the enthusiasm of paper publication with extensive view of latest medical progress and improve the quality of healthcare service.
