Abstract: NLRP3 inflammasome is a polyprotein complex with complicated structure and unknown regulatory mechanism. Excessive activation of NLRP3 inflammasome is believed to be related to pathophysiological processes with multiple systemic diseases. Cerebral ischemia is the cerebrovascular disease with the highest incidence. Due to the limited application of thrombolytic therapy, it is particularly important to develop neuroprotective drugs after cerebral ischemia. Identification effective drug targets may provide new approaches in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury(CIRI).

Key words: cerebral ischemia-reperfusion, NLRP3 inflammasome, activation, negative regulation
