Abstract: Pulmonary fibrosis is characterized by extensive deposition of extracellular matrix, changes in biomechanical properties of ECM result from the process of PF actively drive disease progression. Several matrix protein candidates correlate with fibrotic pathologies, ECM may offer many novel therapeutic targets.
