Prediction of potential γ- and β-globin gene regulators based on transcriptome analysis

Abstract: Objective To predict potential regulators of γ- and β-globin gene. Methods The RNA-seq data of differential expression between γ- and β-globin were analysed to screen the differential expressed genes and IPA was used to explore the upstream regulators. Prediction of γ- and β-globin gene regulators was conducted by STRING database and Centiscape software. Results Known globin gene regulators such as BCL11A, NF-E2, YY1, GATA1 were predicted in the protein-protein interaction network. And 14 potential regulators were both predicted from two sets of data. Conclusion MAPK1, TNF, IFN etc predicted regulators may regulate γ- and β-globin gene expression. And it requires further molecular biology experiments to confirm.
