Abstract: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disease, with reproductive functional disturbance and metabolic disorders. However, its etiology and pathogenesis are not clear yet. Inside the cell, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Protein Kinase B (PI3K-Akt) is one of the important signal pathway, and the change of PI3K-Akt signal pathway is related to processes of PCOS, such as insulin resistance, adipocyte differentiation, cell proliferation, treatment and prognosis.

Key words: polycystic ovary syndrome, PI3K-Akt, signal transduction, insulin resistance, pathogenesis
