Advance in the study of relationship between vimentin and diseases

Abstract: Vimentin is an important member of intermediate filament family in mesenchymal cells. Recently, several researches revealed that the changes of vimentin expression and distribution played important roles in regulating cell growth, migration, apoptosis, signaling, gene expression, as well as cellular integrity. Thus, vimemtin had relationships with some diseases, and this article summarized the progress in this field.
