Abstract: Abstract: Objective To investigate whether the protective effect of therapy with different combined neuroprotective agents was better than that of single agent. Methods Use suture occlusion technique, the right middle cerebral artery in rats was occluded. All animals were randomly assigned before surgery to one of the following groups: FDP-treated group,MK-801-treated group,NAC-treated group,combination-treated group and contral group. The apoptosis of neurons and the expression of caspase-3 were observed after 6h and 24h of cerebral ischemia. Results After 6h and 24h of cerebral ischemia, both the apoptosis of neurons and the expression of caspase-3 in the combination-treated group was distinctly decreased than the single agent group (P<0.05).Conclusion Combined use of neuroprotective agents may have be more effective than that of single agent in this modle.
