Practice of OSCE in assessment for standardized training of residents in Beijing

Abstract: Objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is a tool to evaluate medical students' clinical competence in a simulated clinical setting, so it has been regarded as a clinical competency assessment method based on KAS model ( knowledge, skills and attitudes). Development of OSCE is a complicated system engineering process. A reasonable design is the foundation of the successful completion of OSCE, and a professional team of excellent examination service is the guarantee of the efficient operation of OSCE. This article takes Peking Union Medical College Hospital as an example to introduce the practice of OSCE in the evaluation of clinical competence of trainees after resident standardized training in Beijing.
