Abstract: Objective To examine the effect of mir-129 on the biological function of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells. Methods miR-129 mimics and inhibitor were synthesized and transfected into nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells. Mir-129 expression was detected by RT-PCR. Cell proliferation was detected by CCK8. Cell invasiveness was detected by Transwell test. Cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. Results Compared with the control group, the expression level of mir-129 in the mir-129 mimics group was significantly increased (P < 0.05), and the expression level of mir-129 was significantly reduced in the mir-129 inhibitor group (P < 0.05). Compared with the control group, the proliferation and invasion of CNE2 cells in the mir-129 mimics group were significantly decreased (P < 0.05), and apoptosis was significantly increased (P < 0.05). Correspondingly the proliferation, invasion and apoptosis of CNE2 cells in the mir-129 inhibitor group were significantly increased and decreased respectively (P < 0.05). Conclusion mir-129 inhibites the proliferation and migration in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells, and promotes apoptosis.
