The preparation technology of pharmaceutical preparations has played an important role in the development of pharmaceutical preparations. Through literature analysis the article reviews the development of formulation-related technologies in solid dispersion technology, hot-melt extrusion technology, nanocrystal preparation technology, coating technology, 3D printing technology and microfluidic technology in the past ten years, summarize the development process, application scope and characteristics, providing a certain reference for the use of pharmaceutical preparation technology in our pharmacy and related fields, and to help the development of our pharmacy and related fields.

The construction of hospital pharmacy disciplines is always on the way. This paper retrospects the three stages of hospital pharmacy development in more than 70 years since the founding of new China. The first stage: lack of drugs, rough management. The second stage: hospital support by medicine, supply exceeds demand. The third stage: pharmaceutical services, driven by innovation. The main tasks of the pharmacy department of the hospital have changed from “looking for medicine”, “medicine entrance” to “use of medicine”, and reborn after the transformation. The discipline of hospital pharmacy has gradually produced many new theories, new achievements and new methods, and the discipline construction has achieved fruitful results: carrying out “patient-centered” clinical pharmacy work, carrying out applied research in combination with clinical practice, promoting the application of new pharmaceutical technologies, and strengthening the clinical application management of drugs. The academic system establishment and development of hospital pharmacy is manifested in: establishing professional education in clinical pharmacy and training of clinical pharmacists, building hospital pharmacy talent team, playing a leading role of the Hospital Pharmacy Professional Committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, selecting national key specialty construction units of clinical pharmacy, exploring the research scope and construction connotation of hospital pharmacy disciplines, publishing hospital pharmacy academic journals, monographs and series of training textbooks, and carrying out hospital pharmacy academic activities and international exchanges. Pay tribute to the arduous journey of generations of hospital pharmacy workers who persistently adhere to and work hard, and remember the scientist spirit of the older generation of hospital pharmacy experts. Looking forward to the future development trend of hospital pharmacy discipline: strengthen the construction of clinical pharmacy specialties to meet the needs of clinical medical development. Train pharmacists who adapt to new pharmacy service models. Promote innovation in clinical pharmacy practice and improve the quality of pharmacy services. Strengthen the role of information technology in the rational use of clinical medicines. Medical and pharmaceutical collaborative technology innovation meets the needs of clinical pharmacy services.

The high-quality development of higher pharmaceutical education is a crucial foundation for achieving the healthy China strategy, meeting the increasing health needs of the people, and promoting the global advancement of China’s biomedical industry. This article provides a review and summary of innovative development measures taken by higher pharmaceutical education from 2012 to 2022 in ten aspects, as viewed by the Pharmaceutical Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. These measures center on the cultivation of “new drug discovery talents” and “clinical pharmaceutical service talents” and include reforms to pharmaceutical talent cultivation mode, education reform of new engineering, new medicine, new agriculture, and new liberal arts, infrastructure construction of pharmaceutical education and teaching, quality assurance systems of higher pharmaceutical education, etc. Based on the proposition of “building Chinese modernization” presented in the Party′s 20th National Congress, this article looks ahead to how to build “Chinese higher pharmaceutical education modernization” and proposes the reform direction of self-cultivation of innovative talents in key links.

The regulation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in China has undergone four stages of institutional evolution and scientific process: traditional quality regulation (sensory property identification), modern quality regulation (physicochemical property analysis), establishment of Chinese medicine registration standards (effectiveness, safety, and quality control technology), and scientific regulation of Chinese medicine (new tools, new standards, and new methods).Now the regulation of TCM has entered a new stage with acceleration of drug registration, throughout quality control of the entire industrial chain, technological innovation of throughout the life cycle, and global TCM regulatory coordination.This paper proposes that TCM regulatory science is the science of developing new tools, standards, and approaches to assess the safety, efficacy, quality, and performance of TCM products, by the interdisciplinary knowledge and integration research of Chinese medicine, western medicine, regulatory science, etc. It is an emerging cross-disciplinary science that accelerates the transformation of new technology products of TCM and promotes the inheritance, innovation, and development of TCM.We will further comprehensively strengthen the construction of a scientific regulatory system for TCM, address fundamental, critical, cutting-edge, and strategic technical issues related to TCM regulation,in order to establish a registration system that conforms to the characteristics of TCM, achieve a higher level of scientific rugulation of TCM, accelerate the transformation and application of new technologies and products of traditional Chinese medicine, create a strong TCM industry, and promote the inheritance and innovation of TCM.

In the decade from 2012 to 2022, innovative drugs have emerged, and the qualitative and quantitative analysis methods of drugs have shown diversified and complex characteristics, thus promoting the rapid development of frontier technologies of drug analysis. In order to lay the scientific foundation for promoting drug analysis technology “inheriting the essence, keeping the righteousness and innovation”, the development of the frontier technologies of Chinese drug analysis in the past ten years was summarized from four aspects: chemical drug analysis technology, traditional Chinese medicine analysis technology, biological drug analysis technology, and new drug analysis technology, and the future direction of drug analysis should be focused on was prospected. The scientific foundation is laid to promote the “inheritance of the essence, keep the righteousness and innovation” of drug analysis technology.

Drug screening is an important technology and basic link in the research and development of new drug. High throughput screening (HTS) is a technology to evaluate and analyze the pharmacological activity of a large number of samples in order to find lead compounds of new drug. The HTS technology system comprehensively applies various biomedical technologies such as pharmacology technology, molecular biology technology, cell biology technology, computer technology, management technology, automatic control technology to achieve rapid, efficient, microminiaturization, automation and large-scale drug screening. After decades of practice and development, HTS has become an important technical method in the research and development of new drugs and has played an important role in the research and development of new drugs. This article will review the application progress of HTS technology in drug discovery and research to provide reference for new drug research and development.

High-end pharmaceutical preparation is a kind of high-tech preparation that can improve drug efficacy and enhance drug safety, and their development is an indicator to measure the level of a country′s pharmaceutical preparations. The development of high-end pharmaceutical formulations relies on new excipients with special functions. In the past decade, the development and production of excipients for high-end pharmaceutical preparations have developed rapidly. Focusing on the role and application of excipients in the development of traditional Chinese medicine modernization, the innovation of high-end chemical preparations and the production of biological products, this paper tracks the literature about the research progress of functional excipients, comprehensively analyzes the international technical level in related fields, and points out the future development direction of functional excipients in China, in order to inspire and provide reference to the development and application of excipients for high-end pharmaceutical preparations in China.

The conventional drug design method focuses on the reductionist approach of simplifying complex things. Pharmaceutical development following this approach is thorough and detailed. However, it does not guarantee satisfactory results for all drugs. Systems theory, which explores the nature of things from a holistic perspective based on their integrity and relevance, has played a vital role in the prevention and treatment of major viral diseases. Based on the interpretations of examples of the holistic approach in drug designs at home and abroad, novel coronavirus infection demonstrates the advantages of combining reductionist and systemic theories in the research of antiviral drugs, with a view to providing guidance for the design and development of antiviral drugs as well as scientific solutions for the prevention and treatment of viral diseases.

Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has exerted a significant role in the prevention and treatment of human diseases since ancient times, which is definitely the precious wealth of the Chinese nation. Along with the progressive implementation of the strategy of revitalizing the cause of TCM, the TCM industry has ushered in a golden period of evolution, of which building a scientific and reasonable quality and safety evaluation system of TCM and establishing high-quality standards are the critical core contents to elevate the high-quality development of TCM. In this paper, the author expounds the existing system and unsolved problems of quality standards for TCM, elucidates the new mode methods of TCM quality control in recent ten years, and makes a prospect of the direction that should be attached great importance in the future TCM with the rapid development of science and technology. It is expected to offer advice and suggestions and widen thinking for innovation and perfection of TCM quality control system, and lay a foundation for enhancing the quality of TCM products.
