OBJECTIVE: To offer reference to clinical research on transdermal delivery system. METHODS: After the rabbit's back was shed, the reference group used the direct transdermal delivery system and the test group used iontophoresis. 1.5 ml venous blood was obtained before and after administration. After the pretreatment was done, the plasma concentration was determined by HPLC. RESULTS: The plasma concentration-time curve fitted to the two compartment model. Comparision of iontophoresis with direct transdermal delivery system showed a remarkable difference (P<0.05). The main parameters (cmax, tmax) were 2.578 mg·ml-1, 1.388 mg·ml-1, 1.146 h, 1.608 h respectively. CONCLUSION: Iontophoresis could remarkably enhance the transdermal delivery.
