Impact of chronic stress on the development of breast cancer

Abstract: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers of females and is a leading cause of tumor-related death in women. Negative emotion frequently presents in patients like anxiety and depression and chronic stress which may lead to depression is a major risk factor of the cancer development. Stress leads to dysfunctions of cells, molecules and neural circuits, thus promoting depression. Chronic stress promotes the occurrence and development of breast cancer through related neurotransmitters and also affects the prognosis of breast cancer patients.
