Abstract: It is very common that the number of neurons in the brain is progressively decreased in the neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease, etc. Moreover, it is much more important that there is a decline in the neurogenesis of adult brain in such neurodegenerative diseases. In treating neurodegenerative diseases, it is an ideal and potential therapeutic modality to promote endogenous neurogenesis in the brain.
