Abstract：OBJECTIVE To summarize and analyze the quality problems of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces found in the traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy of our hospital in the past 6 years, and put forward suggestions for the existing quality problems, so as to promote the quality of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines by patients.CONCLUSION During the quality acceptance and dispensing process, 162 batches of unqualified traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces were found in our hospital in the past 6 years,the decoction pieces were classified and analyzed for the reasons of their quality failure according to the Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2020 Ed) and the Beijing Specification for Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction Pieces(2008 Ed).RESULTS The 162 batches of unqualified decoction pieces could be classified as non-standardizedly processed pieces, decoction pieces with worms, adulteration in the decoction pieces, moldy herbal pieces, inappropriate harvesting period, and abnormal weight gain.CONCLUSION Non-standard processing is the main cause of quality problems of Chinese medicine decoction pieces.
