Abstract:OBJECTIVE Toretrospectively analyze the situation of potential inappropriate drug use (PIM) in elderly inpatients in our hospital. METHODS The elderly inpatients (aged over 65 years) in Beijing hospital from January to December in 2019wereretrospectively analyzed. PIM was evaluated according to beers standard (version 2019), STOPP standard(version 2014) and PIM judgment standard for Chinese elderly(version 2017).Combined with the medication situation of our hospital, the PIM situation of elderly inpatients in our hospital was analyzed. RESULTS The results showed that there were 15 935(70.77%) patients with PIM, a total of 48 227 cases. The most frequentdrug-related PIM was PPI (20.57%), followed by clopidogrel (17.78%).The frequency of PIM was highest in hypertension patients taking NSAIDs (47.17%), followed by osteoporosis patients taking glucocorticoids (11.71%);The most common drug interaction related PIM was the combination of glucocorticoids and NSAIDs (35.85%), followed by the combination of ≥ 2 NSAIDs (26.88%). CONCLUSION The proportion of PIM is high, and corresponding intervention measures should be taken to reduce the risk of medication and ensure the safety of medication.
