Abstract:OBJECTIVE To optimize the best microneedle condition for transdermal absorption of cinnamaldehyde liposomes using orthogonal experiments combined with optical coherence tomography (OCT), and then provide a reference for cinnamaldehyde as a transdermal preparation for skin photoaging. METHODS The orthogonal experiment was carried out with cumulative transdermal penetration in 12 h and the recovery of skin within 1 h as indicators, the effects of microneedle length, action time and force were investigated on the permeability of cinnamaldehyde liposomes,and then the optimal microneedle conditions was selected. RESULTS The optimal microneedle condition was 250 μm, 5 N, 2 min. Under this condition, the cumulative penetration of the skin was higher, and the skin recovery degree was the strongest within 60 min. The comprehensive score of the two indicators was the highest. CONCLUSION This condition is credible and can make a reference for multiple ways of joint penetration promotion for which was selected on the basis of comprehensive consideration of the effectiveness and safety of microneedle.
