Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents from Maytenus guangxiensis. METHODS The constituents were isolated and purified by various column chromatographic techniques and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). The structures of the compounds were elucidated on the basis of their physicochemical properties and spectral data. RESULTS Thirteen compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of Maytenus guangxiensis and identified as 2-furoic acid(1),(+)-erythro-7-O-ethylguaiacylglycerol(2), vomifoliol(3), 5-methoxyguaiacylglycerol(4), 1, 2-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1, 3-propanediol(5), hedyotisol A(6), nicotinamide(7),(1R, 2R)-1-(3, 4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1, 2, 3-propanetriol(8), icariol A2(9),(-)-lyoniresinol(10), isolariciresinol(11), β-hydroxypropiovanillone(12), and evofolin B(13). CONCLUSION All compounds are isolated from Maytenus guangxiensis for the first time.
