Abstract��
OBJECTIVE: To develop a biodegradable testosterone microspheres formulation. METHOD: Poly (D, L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) microspheres containing testosterone was prepared by a solvent evaporation and solvent extraction process and the drug release test of the microspheres was carried our in vitro. RESULTS: The microspheres with good yield, disired size and satisfied drug loading was obtained, and a significant testosterone sustained release was shown in the test of drug release in vitro. CONCLUSION: PLGA microspheres containing testosterone can be prepared by a solvent evaporation and solvent extraction process. The microspheres is promising to be developed as a new long-acting testosterone formulation.
