OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of Hypericum sampsonii Hance.METHODS The compounds were isolated by silica gel,polyamide,sephadex LH-20 and macroreticular resin,and the structures were elucidated by UV,IR,MS,1H-NMR,13C-NMR and their physicochemical properties.RESULTS Four xanthone compounds were isolated from the aerial parts and identified as 1-hydroxy-7-methoxyxantone(Ⅰ),1,3,5-trihydroxyxanthone(Ⅱ),1,3,6,7-tetrahydroxy-xanthone(Ⅲ) and mangiferin(Ⅳ).CONCLUSION All these compounds are obtained from this plant for the first time except for the compound Ⅳ.
