Abstract: Perioperative pulmonary aspiration is a serious complication during general anesthesia. For the patients with unknown gastric condition, there is no effective method for the noninvasive evaluation of gastric content and volume preoperatively. Because of the portable and real-time detection, bedside ultrasound can significantly reduce the risk of perioperative reflux and pulmonary aspiration, which makes preoperative gastric contents visualized and accurate.
