Abstract: MicroRNAs (miRNAs, miRs) are a group of single stranded small non-coding RNAs with about 22 nucleotides in length, which have been implicated in a variety of physiological processes. Recent studies have suggested that miRNAs paly central roles in insulin production, secretion and actions, as well as in glucose homeostasis.
