Application of anti-thrombotic drugs and the safety of prostate biopsy

Abstract

Abstract: Incidence rate of prostate cancer has been ranked as the first one in male malignant tumors. Prostate biopsy is the golden standard for diagnosis of prostate cancer. However, clinical treatment of prostate cancer is facing the challenge of lacking evidence-based recommendations for peri-operative anti-thrombotic medication management are lacking. Through reviewing of research papers, it was found that administration of oral anti-thrombosis drugs was safe for patients undergoing prostate biopsy. For patients with high risk of cerebro-cardiovascular diseases. Continuing use of anti-thrombotic drugs during peri-operative period is suggested.
