Abstract: The health of the reproductive system is closely associated with females' fertility ability and the quality of life. However, the incidence of diseases related to the female reproductive system has been increasing and the age of onset is becoming younger, generating numerous negative consequences on the female reproductive health. Therefore, there are urgent demands to develop effective therapeutic technologies and strategies. In recent years, the progress of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine has shown promising potentials of novel approaches for the treatment of related diseases by guiding tissue regeneration to restore the organs' functions. In this article, we introduced the advances of scaffolds construction inspired by nanostructures and biomaterials as well as the applications in the premature ovarian failure, follicle culture in vitro, intrauterine adhesions, and the regeneration of defected uterine and pelvic organ prolapse. In addition, existing challenges and efforts that should be considered in the future were discussed.
