Abstract: Pyroptosis is another form of cell death that is different from necrosis and apoptosis. For the body, cell coercion helps to maintain homeostasis, but excessive cell caliber can cause disease in the body，diabetes is one of them. Changes in metabolites and intestinal flora in pre-diabetes, diabetes can cause pyroptosis ，and pyroptosis further promotes the reduction of islet β-cell number and the formation of insulin resistance in insulin target organs, aggravating the development of diabetes and complications. Although the treatment based on pyroptosis is more and more concerned, it needs further study.
