Abstract: It is found in recent years that ferroptosis is a kind of regulatory cell death induced by iron dependent lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) in recent years. There are significant differences in cell apoptosis, autophagy, and programmed bad death in cell morphology and biochemical indexes. It is involved in many clinical diseases such as tumor, nervous system and ischemia-reperfusion injury. Understanding ferroptosis in depth can provide new ideas for prevention and treatment of related diseases.

Key words: Ferroptosis, iron metabolism, Lipid peroxidation, reactive oxygen species
