Abstract: The formation of macrophage foam cells is in the early stage of the development of atherosclerosis. The transformation of macrophage foam cell involves the disruption of a homeostatic mechanism that controls the uptake, intracellular metabolism and ef?ux of cholesterol within macrophages. The research of the mechanism of foam cells has a great significance for the prevention and the treatment for the atherosclerosis.
