Study on Flavonoids of Macrothelypteris viridifrons

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To research the chemical constituents of Macrothelypteris viridifrons. METHODS The compounds were isolated by column chromatography with silica gel, C18 reverse-phase silica gel, Sephadex LH-20. The structures were elucidated on the basis of physiochemical propertities and spectral analysis. RESULTS Nine compounds were isolated and identified as kaempferol-3-O-glucoside (1, kaempferol-3-O-rutinose (2, quercetin-3-O-rutinose (3, apigenin-4′-O-glucoside (4, narigenin-4′-O-glucoside (5, kaempferol (6, quercetin (7, apigenin (8, 5, 7-dihydroxychromone (9, respectively. CONCLUSION All compounds were obtained from this plant for the first time.
