OBJECTIVE To prepare the sustained-released microcapsules containing cimetidine with gelatin and chitosan as the basic material for the coating of microcapsules. METHODS According to the L9(34) orthogonal design, the amount of gelatin(A), chitosan(B), glutaraldehyde(C) formulas were optimized. RESULTS The factors of B, A and C showed a great effect on release rate, and the optimum formula was A2B3C1. CONCLUSION The cimetidine microcapsules with gelatin and chitosan showed good characters of relaxation.
