OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of the bark of Fraxinus mandschurica Rupr. METHODS The compounds were isolated and purified by column chromatography with silica. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectral analysis. RESULTS Six compounds were identified as calceolarioside A (Ⅰ), calceolarioside B (Ⅱ), calceolarioside A-2′-α-L-rhamnopyranoside(Ⅲ), homovanillyl alcohol-4¢-glycoside(Ⅳ), ligstroside(Ⅴ), balanophonin(Ⅵ). CONCLUSION CompoundⅠ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅵ and Ⅶ are isolated from the bark of Fraxinus mandschurica Rupr. for the first time and compound Ⅲ is a new one.
