Abstract

OBJECTIVE To study the isolation and neurotrophic activity of polysaccharides from Rosa roxburghii Tratt.METHODS RRTP-1~RRTP-8 were isolated by DEAE-cellulose and Sepharose CL-6B column chromatography from crude polysaccharide.Their homogeneity was determined by gel column chromatography and electrophoresis.Neurotrophic activity of RRTP-1~RRTP-8 was screened by PC12 cell assay.Quantitative neurotrophic assays to homogeneous polysaccharides were carried out.RESULTS RRTP-1 and RRTP-3 were homogeneous polysaccharides. The screening results showed that most of polysaccharide fractions induced the differentiation of PC12 cell.CONCLUSION The most of polysaccharide fractions from Rosa roxburghii Tratt have obvious neurotrophic activity.
