Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of the embryo of Ceriops tagal.METHODS The compounds were isolated and purified by using column chromatography with silical gel and Sephadex LH-20,and their structures were identified by their physical and spectral data. RESULTS Seven compounds were isolated and elucidated as the mixture of β-sitosterol(Ⅰ) and stigmasterol(Ⅱ),betulin(Ⅲ),3-epi-butulinic acid(Ⅳ),3-epi-acetylbetulinic acid(Ⅴ),caffeic acid(Ⅵ) and 5,7,3′,4′-tetrahydroxyflavonol(Ⅶ).CONCLUSION All the compounds are firstly isolated from this species.
