OBJECTIVE:The determination of total emodin in Linjiexiao can provide basis for establishing its qualitative standard.METHDOS:Hot ethanol was used to extract,then hydrochloric acid was used to hydrolysate for 30minutes.The total emodinin Linjiexiao was determined by TLC scanning method.RESULTS:The average recovery was 98.29% with RSD=1.80%(n=5).CONCLUSION:The result was precise and stable.This method was sensitive and its repeatability was excellent.This method may serve as the reference to establishing the Linjiexiao.
