OBJECTIVE: To stablish TLC-densitometry of alismol in Rhizoma Alismatis. METHODS: The samples were extracted by CC(hexane - CH2 Cl2 ,1:1)method and subjected to TLC-densitometry ( coloured by silimtungstic acid). RESULTS: The alismol content in Rhizoma Alismatis was 0.021%and RSD was 4.1%.CONCLUSION Alismol was efficiently quantitated by TLC-densitometry.
