Abstract��
OBJECTIVE To study the effect of Rh(rhein) on proliferation and differentiation of rat preadipocytes.METHODS MTT spectrophotometry and FCM(flow cytometry) were adopted to determine the effect of Rh on proliferation of rat preadipocytes. The accumulation of TG(triglyceride) in adipocytes was assayed by oil red O staining,and morphological changes of the adipocytes were determined by morphology observation. RESULTS Rh inhibited the proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes in a dose and time dependent manner,and induced apoptosis of preadipocytes in a certain degree. CONCLUSION Rh has a potential to block the excessive development of adipose tissue in human or animal��s body,so that it can be used to treat obesity and lipid metabolic disorder.
