Abstract:The photocurable 3D printing technique lately has been extensively applied to manufacturing diverse biomedical devices and implants with versatile functionalities owing to its distinguished characteristics including high forming speed, high precision, and high finishing quality of the printed objects. Recently, numerous efforts have been made to continuously utilize this novel technique to precisely fabricate pharmaceutical preparations by proposing newly developed printing apparatus as well as newly designed photocurable printing polymers. This article aims to introduce the recent advances of photocurable 3D printed dosages particularly for drug delivery based on different printing mechanisms by discussing their printing principles as well as advantages and limitations.
