AbstractThiazolidinone is a heterocyclic system comprising carbon atoms, nitrogen atom and sulphur atom. As a key skeleton structure, it can produce a variety of biological activities by combining with biological macromolecules, such as antitumor, antisepsis, antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory and antimycobacterial effects, etc. Recently, microwave method and ionic liquid method were applied in the synthesis of thiazolidinone derivatives. Thus, the structure types and biological activities of thiazolidinone derivatives were more diversified. In this paper, combining with our previous work and referring to literatures, the synthetic METHODS and new thiazolidinone derivatives in the recent five years were briefly introduced. These can provide evidence for further development of novel thiazolidinone derivatives.
