Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of the root of Anemone tomentosa. METHODS The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by silica gelSephadex LH-20 column and thin-layer chromatography. Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis and physico-chemical properties. RESULTS Eight non-alkaloid compounds were isolated and identified as 45-dimethoxyl-7-methylcoumarin(147-dimethoxyl-5-methyl coumarin(2betulinic acid(3oleanolic acid(4oleanolic acid 3-O--L-arabinopyranoside(5oleanolic acid 3-O--D-galactopyranosyl-(13--D-glucopyranoside(6hederagenin 3-O--L-arabinopyranoside(7and 18-hydroxyursolic acid(8. CONCLUSION Five compounds except 12 and 4 were obtained from A. tomentosa for the first time. Compounds 6-8 were isolated from Anemone genus for the first time.
