Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effects of hawthorn leaves flavonoids (HLF) on cardiac function in rats suffered from myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury.METHODS Myocadial ischemia reperfusion injury model was established by the ligation of left desending coronary artery for 30 min and reperfusion for 120 min in rats, and the influence of HLF on cardiac function, enzymes, lipid peroxide of myocardium was observed.RESULTS HLF attenuated the declines of LVSP and dp/dtmax and blood pressure in arterial, decreased Na+ -K+-ATPase activity and the level of malondialdehyde( MDA) , and increased superoxide dismutase( SOD) activity in ischemic myocardium . CONCLUSION The results suggested that the effects of HLF on cardiac function in the process of ischemia reperfusion may be related to the mechanism of improving energy metabolism, scavarging the oxygen free radicals and inhibiting production of free rascals in ischemic myocardium.
