OBJECTIVE To study the chemical constituents of Lysimachia clethroides Duby. METHODS Compounds were isolated by column chromatographic techniques and their structures were elucidated by a combination of EI-MS and NMR spectroscopy. RESULTS Seven compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate and methanol extracts,and identified as α-amyrin(1,β-amyrin(2,β-sitosterol(3,stigmaster-5,22(E-dien-3β-ol(4,12-urosolic acid-3-O-β-D-glucoside(5,12-ursen-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(6 and β-daucosterol(7 . CONCLUSION Compounds 1-3,5 and 6 were isolated for the first time from this plant. Compound 1,5 and 6 were isolated for the first time from this genus.
