OBJECTIVE To investigate the chemical constituents of Hemistepta. lyrata.METHODS The constituents of the CHCl3-sol-uble and EtOAc-soluble portions of the 95% ethanol extraction were isolated and purified by means of chromatography. Compounds were identified by their physical characteristics and spectral features. RESULTS Nine compounds were isolated and identified as acacetin(1); β-sitos-terol(2);kaempferol (3) ;daucossterol(4) ;acacetin-7-O-β-D-glucoside (5);salicylic acid(6);kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside (7);acacetin-7-O-β-D-lutinoside (8) and succinic acid (9) .CONCLUSION Compound 3,5,6 and 9 are isolated from this genus for the first time.
